The 5 Objections to Using Medications for Weight Loss and Why They are WRONG! Ep #35

As an obesity medicine physician, the growing attention around weight-loss medications is exciting because these are tremendous tools to improve the health of individuals with obesity, and the world needs to know about them!

But I also hear lots of confusion and objections to the medications. I hear many questions over and over, so I'm going to give you my expert answers to the top questions I hear about anti-obesity and weight-loss medications.

The most common myth I hear from patients, the general public, and even medical colleagues is the belief that weight loss should be achievable without medication.

The truth is, most individuals seeking weight loss have already attempted various diets, supplements, and exercise plans without long-term success. Weight loss can be challenging due to the body's metabolic adaptations, increased hunger, and reduced fullness.

Medications can play a significant role in overcoming these biological barriers and enabling individuals to follow a nutrition plan and eat in a way that aligns with their intentions. While lifestyle modifications are crucial, for many, medications provide the support necessary for sustained weight loss.

Tune into this episode for more info on this and the other four common myths I hear about weight loss medication!
